Some people obsess over furniture. Some people do not even notice furniture. Regardless of who you are, making environmentally savvy choices in furnishing your home or office can make a big difference in your impact on the planet and your health. Here are some things to think about when purchasing eco furniture: if there is wood make sure it’s a certified sustainable wood, if it’s not wood make sure the materials are made with reclaimed materials, look for furniture that’s durable, fixable, and has low-toxicity, and ideally the closer to home it’s made the better.
Our search engine will overlook common words shared between several products, manufacturers, dealers, or green building programs (i.e., "Hardware" and "Program"). If you're not finding what you're looking for, try to be more specific (i.e., "True Value Hardware" or "King County Building Program").
Make sure you typed in your search query accurately — typos are the most common reason for failed searches. If you're not quite sure how to spell what you're looking for, try browsing our categories or state listings first. You can also try a more general search term (i.e., "dishwasher" or "flooring" if you're searching for a product).
We rely on the 2000 U.S. Census data for our zip code data. As a result, some zip codes that exist today may not be in our database. If your valid U.S. zip code comes up with no results, try one in the next town over (i.e., "80304" instead of "80305").
Avoid using anything other than words in your search terms. Punctuation and symbols (i.e., ?, !, &, @ or $) will often return poor results. For a brand or product that has punctuation or a symbol in its name, try using only the words in its name (i.e., use "Fisher Paykel" instead of "Fisher & Paykel"). Likewise, quotation marks will be ignored.
