Tubular skylights are ideal for bringing natural light to small spaces. Each kit includes everything you need for a complete installation. No framing, drywalling, or painting required.

Patented Solar Lens Dome
Patented reflex optic technology gathers sunlight – even during low-light hours in the morning, late afternoon, or during the winter, to maximize light into the tube. The standard dome is made of UV resistant, non-yellowing acrylic. The dome in the Severe Weather Kit is polycarbonate.
Patent #RE38217

Leak-proof Design
ODL Skylights meet ASTM E-331 Water Penetration Resistance Standard. Standard Leakproof Flashing and Domes are included in each kit.
Durable, one-piece seamless roof flashing eliminates leaks.

Adjustable Tubes
Two jointed tubes let you work around obstacles. Tubes adjust up to 45 angle.

Mirror Finish Tube
The mirror finish tubes optimize light reflected through shaft while controlling solar heat gain. The UV stabilized finish will not yellow, fade or delaminate. Standard kit length is 48”. Kits include 2-15” adjustable tubes and one 20” extension tube. Additional extension tubes available.

Designed for easy installation.
Pre-assembled seals eliminate installation steps and assure a weathertight fit. The ring installs without any screws into the ceiling. Flip tabs tighten down gaskets for a dust and moisture-free seal.
Dual Lens Glass Diffuser

Spreads soft, natural light throughout interior spaces. The outer glass lens spreads light and eliminates hot spots, while the inner lens reduces solar heat gain and eliminates condensation in colder climates.

I had 2 ODL tubular skylights installed. Initially they sent me the composite flashings erroneously but upon contacting the company they were prompt and without hesitation about correcting the mistake-within 3 days I had the aluminium flashings and polycarb domes. The installation took about 3.5 hours and was quite straightforward except for the positioning of the tubes. The turns and the extension tubing were quite challenging to maneuver. The lighting is NOT blue and is good. I am still debating about the actual heat gain from the lighting however. I am not sure if my kitchen and living room are warmer now-my wife says no but I am still on the fence. I do find myself thinking I need to turn off the lights-which is a good thing. The dimmer is also a cool feature that we installed very easily.

Installed 8” ODL ona 4/12 comp. roof. Install was straightforward. The small 8X 10 powder room was painted a mocha color with beige marble tile. I noticed only a hint of blue light. Overall I’m pleased with the performance. I would have wished for a better quality flashing (rubber like plastic) I believe there’s a metal flashing available for more $$$.

We install ODL tubular skylights about 30 times a year and i believe them to be the easiest to install. The kit has everything you need to do the job in about a hour.Although the tubes can sometimes come apart at the turns,if you just finess the turn and not just yard on it, you shouldnt have any problem getting them to turn.I suggest not using the clear plastic guide for the roof cut out because the hole needs to be oval not circle for roof cut out, i use the roof flashing and center it up and use pen or pencil to scribe around inside of flashing on roof. very clean and discrete. These skylights are great for bringing light in areas where no windows are near, like hallways and some bathrooms. We will continue to use ODL brand skylights ,GREAT product, all customers very pleased with product. Thanks.

I’ve just had two of thes installed in a tiny kitchen and am very disappointed. Even in the middle of the day we need the light on, they don’t give very much light at all. And what light they do give is a dingy blue hue as others have remarked

I recently installed 4 ODL solar tubes. I found that the adjustable tubing was not easily adjustable, but they did however fall apart nicely while trying to adjust them. One out of 4 installed easily as it was a straight shot with no adjustment needed. The light is somewhat blue in color, but it does brighten up the room. Probably wouldn’t buy again due to the quality of the reflective tubing.

I installed two 10” tubular skylights within 12 feet of each other in a great room whose ceilings were 16 feet in height. The walls are painted a light blue color….........needless to say that as other pointed out (which I was not aware of) the light does indeed produce a blueish hue to it….......in other words it did not produce the results we were looking for. My client did not want any additional lighting installed for fear of it being a waste of time and effort.

I would be curious to see how others, such as Solartube, would do being that as far as I know they all use the same basic shiny aluminum to reflect/refract sunlight…...not sure there would be any significant change.

Our family room was built when a den was literally a den—dark and gloomy. We had 2 of the 10” ODL tubular skylights installed by a local contractor. The instructions were somewhat vague regarding the placement of the dome, but we finally deduced the faceted part of the dome should face North. Get out your compass for this step. We are very pleased with the product. We now have a bright, cherry room. It is surprizing that the skylights will even emit light on a day that is completely overcast. We are going to have yet another of the skylights installed over the island in our kitchen. Thanks for a product that works and is not as expensive as a traditional skylight. The light emitted is much the color of a flourescent fixture.

just had 2 installed this week …. i agree they cast a bluish light and looking up at the ceiling they are not real attractive…. unless you go to your local hardware store and get some faux stained glass film cut it to size place it on the ceiling lense then install it then it becomes a beautiful stained glass masterpiece and takes away a very minimal amount of the actual light i have had many compliments already… people seem to think we installed real stained glass…..they turned out great!!!!!!

TO BE HONEST TO ALL !! ALL THE MANUFACTURERS OF TUBE SKYLIGHTS HAS A TINT OF BLUE IN THE METAL OF THE TUBES, IT’S JUST SOMETHING IN THE METAL WHEN THE TUBES ARE ROLLED AND SEAMED IF THATS A PROBLEM ASKED FOR THE ( WHITE ) DEFUSER FOR THE CEILING, THAT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM !!!!

Do not use this product unless the theme of your room is an underwater decor. The light coming in is BLUE! Looked like a porthole on a ship. Yes, my contractor removed the film backing. NOTHING would reduce or eliminate the blue. Every white surface in that bathroom turned purple or gray. It was cold and looked no better than a cheap flourescent light. DO NOT INSTALL THIS PRODUCT!. Replaced with SOLATUBE and was very happy with that product.

I had a 10 inch ODL Sky Tube installed and was really impressed with the light output so I went and bought a 14 inch Velux sky tube and had it installed also. That was a big mistake as the 14 inch Velux gave about half the light as the 10 inch ODL. I wish I had bought another 10 inch ODL and saved half the cost and had twice the light.

These are great. The reviewer who said they cast a blue light probably did not remove the protective cover inside the tube. The FAQ section of the website adresses that. http://odl.com/skylights/tubular/faq.php

I found them to install easy, and work great. I bought the aluminum flashing and can not speak towards the quality of the composite flashing, they do have a lifetime warranty if you have problems.

We were putting on a new roof. Home Depot switched to selling ODL. So that is what we put in, without researching the product. The roofer’s installed the tops, and a solar tube person provided the rest of the installation in our bathroom and hallway.

Once installed, the light reflected from the interior of the tube is BLUE. I don’t mean a little blue, I mean a lot BLUE. Out bathroom is pale salmon pink tile. The blue light makes the color look ghostly. The hallway is light yellow. And again, looks BAD. We are either going to have to put photographic yellow gel filters over the light diffusers at ceiling level, or take them out and replace them.

The solar tube guy said, of all of the solar tubes/tunnels he has installed, ODL is the bluest light. Wish I would have known.

I am a roofer here in Phoenix AZ, and i would recommend using a different brand of tubular skylights. I routinely remove this ODL brand about once or twice a month, due to the flashing completely deteriorating. The flashing on these are some sort of plastic material, and the sun eats away at them! By the time i get up there, most of the flashing is completely gone, and has left a large open area for water and other elements to get in the house! Make sure you buy one that has a metal flashing, that wont crumble from UV rays like these typically do!

Probably is a great thing for flat ceilings but not for vaulted. Because the bottom is flush mounted with the ceiling, it points the lights in weird angles…the angle of the ceiling. Going to have to take them out and move them to other rooms unless I find a way to point them down instead of in my face.

We’ve had ours in the bathroom for 3 years. We love it. My husband took considerably longer than 2 hours. But we have a low pitched roof. We get nothing but compliments on the skylight and I want to find more of this kind.
